June 1 & 2, Jefferson’s first Big Cypress Corvette Classic Car Show will meet along the historic brick streets, Saturday, June 2, 11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. The show will feature some of the finest Corvettes in the nation.  Attendees will be arriving from Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma. These beauties will be parked along  Austin, Vale and Lafayette Streets for everyone to look and admire. Logging Begins at A.L. Mangham Jr. Regional Airport

NACOGDOCHES-  Logging has begun at the A.L. Mangham Jr. Regional Airport. The thinning of Block 1, which is a 46-acre stand on the east side of the airport and along Terry Crawford Drive, is the first phase of the 25-year Timber Management Plan developed by John Crawford, Consulting Forester. The block is being thinned selectively, with the older and weaker trees being selected for harvest and the younger more vibrant trees left to grow. Continue reading

The last time I really thought about my bra was about 20 years ago. Being a 13 year old girl on her first bra shopping trip was utterly exciting. That night I spent the night at a friend’s house and we spent the night building ourselves bigger boobs by stuffing our bras with socks and various pieces of cut up foam.  It wasn’t until I was bra shopping a few years ago that I realized that since that night that I stuffed my bra like a turducken, I’d barely given a thought to those things I wear every day. PALESTINE-  The annual Dogwood Trails Celebration began in 1938. This year marks the 74th year of festivities centered around Palestine’s beautiful dogwoods.
