Pittsburg– Every year the Chick Fest in Pittsburg, Texas attracts approximately 3,500 people. The Chick Fest is named in honor of Pilgrim’s Pride, and Bo Pilgrim who lives in Pittsburg. If you are looking for some family fun you will find it in Pittsburg!

The festival kicks off Thursday afternoon, September 15th, with a golf tournament, at Princedale Country Club. Friday, September 16th, get your free hotdog lunch and ice cream at the Chick Fest! The carnival will also open Friday at 6:00p.m.

Saturday, September 17,  all festivities will be in full swing. The streets of downtown Pittsburg will be blocked off and commercial vendors will be set up along the streets in front of the downtown businesses from 8a.m. to 4 p.m., on Saturday ONLY. The carnival will begin 8a.m. to 10p.m and live music will fill the air from 11:00a.m. to 9:00p.m.

Get up Saturday with the roosters and join the 5K Run at 7:30a.m., then catch the parade at 10:00a.m. And you won’t want to miss the Kid’s Rooster Crowing Contest at 11:30! The Chick Fest has something for everyone. Around noon the calls of “BINGO!” will echo in the air during Chicken Scratch bingo, followed by the sound of an open mic during karaoke! Cut a rug at the street dance, beginning at 3:00p.m., and catch the bike show between 4:00p.m. and 9p.m.
